Yesterday afternoon, I suddenly felt the urge to watch some kind of TV show while eating dinner. I considered both “Carnivale”, “BSG” and “Angel”, but discarded them all. The two former (and especially BSG) are have too much background noise for me to pay proper attention to the dialogue while eating, and the latter… well, let’s just say that my sister and I have watched the first six seasons of “Buffy” in two and an half month, and that I’ve watched three seasons of “Angel” parallell to this. It’s a good show, and I don’t want to tire of it, so I decided a break could be useful.
My remaining alternatives were “The Inside”, “Firefly” and “Veronica Mars”, and seeing as I read some of Loki’s comments about what a bother this last show is to pimp on a forum a couple of days ago, I decided to watch an episode or two for dinner, before getting started on my reading for today’s lectures.
Big mistake. Once I got started, I was unable to stop, and before I knew what was happening, it was 1 a.m., and I had decided to sacrifice sleep, and stay up all night, watching VM. I didn’t quite manage to keep myself awake for all the 20 episodes I had downloaded, but 17 episodes straight ain’t bad, right?
Because this is good shit. The story — the season’s plot arc as well as the episode plots — was intricate and captivating, the characters were interesting and engaging, the dialogue was cool and pretty cliché free, and the humour was witty and intelligent.
Definitively a top 5 television show. Huge thanks to Loki and Kalle (even though Kalle doesn’t read this blog, I thought I’d mention him) for pimping this excellent show, because this is one of those you don’t even want to end. I mean, I’m really psyched to find out who killed Lilly Kane, but on the other hand, me finding out implies that season 1 is over, I suppose, and that’ll be a drag.
This is what I always imagined “Twin Peaks” would be like; I hope it won’t be disappointing when I finally get around to watching it, because I paid NOK 400 or so for it just last week…

Yeah, they’re awesome. And Weevil, too. Not quite in Keith and Logan’s league, but not far from it.
And what a season finale! I totally didn’t see that coming!
Curses upon blasphemous curses on router firewalls - I want to see season 2 now!
