Logging on to my favourite fantasy forum today, I found two great news in one post. The news were so great that I at first had some problems accepting them as true, so I set out so dig up som news about these supposed future events — the making of two television shows, based on Garth Ennis’ comic “Preacher” and George RR. Martin’s epic fantasy series “A Song of Ice And Fire”, respectively. My doubts were strengthened by the fact that there was not so much as a word about either of these at the homepage of HBO, the channel that was supposed to make these shows.

I didn’t find anything about the ASOIAF series on GRRM’s official homepage, which made me doubt the veracity of the rumours. However, when I open his blog, what else is the first thing that meets my eye than the news I feared to be false? Yay for that, then.

Coming up with confirmations with the “Preacher” show took a little longer, but a google search followed by some Wikipedia use yielded the following articles, which at least seems to confirm things. The Hollywood Reporter ran an article about the topic in November 2006, SCI FI Wire had one in December, while Newsrama.com published an interview with the director Mark Steven Johnson (who amongst other things also directed “Daredevil” ). So it all seems relatively certain. A big yay for that, too.

This is clearly a day for good news.

Oh, and before you stop reading, have a look at this Arseface pic, and tell me this isn’t gonna be great!
