Yet another personal anecdote:
Two weeks ago, I was with my parents at my gandfather’s place (he’s in a retirement home now; he’s so forgetful he’s a threat to himself these days), and I was really, really tiredd all the weekend we were together. My parents did of course notice this (I mean, it’s not as if I’m normally a big bundle ‘ energy, but I was even more apathetic than I usually am), and I had to explain to them the why of this.
Which was that I had pulled an all-nighter earlier that week, in order to watch a television show I had downloaded. Naturally, this lead them to ask what kind of television show could keep me up all night? And I said “Veronica Mars”, followed by an explanation of the show’s premise, seeing as just the title wouldn’t tell them much. “It’s a show about a teenage girl who solves crimes,” I said, “and she occasionally works for her dad, who’s a PI. She also helps kids in her school with various problems they might have, while investigating the murder of…” Here, my mum interrupted me:
“So,” she said, “basically, you haven’t slept this week because you were to busy watching ‘Nancy Drew’?”
And they both laugh. Viciously.
I just love my parents.

Keith, undercover, introducing himself and Veronica:
“Hello, my name is Carson Drew, and this is my assistant Nancy.”
I thought I’d grin my skull in half.
