I can vaguely remember that when I wrote the purpose statement of this blog, I said some stuff about the appearance of lists. And I feel that I’m sadly lacking in that department, so I take the least original list concept of them all, and try to start amending this failure. Later, I might try to come up with something at least a little bit original, but not now.
The albums are in no particular order, with the exception of the one on top, which is my favourite of all time. Also, there were some close calls here, albums like Nirvana’s “Nevermind”, REM’s “Construction of the Fables”, Muse’s “Absolution”, John Coltrane’s “Blue Train”, the Sex Pistols’ “Never Mind The Bollocks”, The Fugees’ “The Score”, Pixies’ “Doolittle”, and a whole bunch of others, were judged and found wanting, if only by a hair. So, this is Terje’s Album List:
Radiohead - OK Computer (1997)
The Clash - London Burning (1979)
Bob Dylan - Highway 61 Revisited (1965)
Black Sabbath - Master of Reality (1971)
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon (1973)
Weezer - Blue Album (1994)
Queen - Greatest Hits Platinum Edition (2000; 1992/1992/1999)*
Jethro Tull - Aqualung (1971)
Queens of the Stone Age - Songs for the Deaf (2002)
Dinosaur Jr - You’re Living All Over Me (1987)
*It might seem a bit cowardly to choose a triple disc greatest hits album, but Queen has to be on this list, and I’m unable to choose between their regular albums. Besides, Platinum is undoubtedly their best. ![]()

Dark Side of the Moon, OK Computer… Yeah, you’ve got a pretty decent taste, I’ll give you that. Have you listened to any Arcade Fire? Their album Neon Bible is wonderful, and would certainly be on my top 10-list. And if I’m first recommending things, then the album “Some Cities” by Doves is good too, even features a version of the classical King Crimson song “Moonchild”!

Heh, at least it looks that way when I decide to choose the 10 albums I like the most. Chosen from the couple of hundred albums I own (i.e. the only ones I’ve heard enough of to choose from), my list of all time favourites is bound to be pretty middle-of-the-road, seeing as my taste in music is rather broad.

I’ve heard one or two songs from their previous album, “Funeral”, so not very much. But I really liked what little I heard, so Arcade Fire is currently on top of my “to buy” list.

Doves… I’ve heard one of their song, “Catch the Sun”, and that one sounds like nice pop rock. (I’m actually listening to it as I type this, and I believe I could come to like this. It seems so simple at first, but when I listen more closely I can hear that it’s real tight, and that there are several layers of sound intertwined with each other. Hmm, I do believe I shall try to follow that recommendation.)

I just thought this list over (seeing as I had a nice view to my record collection from the chair I occupied while consuming my breakfast), and I had to conclude that if Jello Biafra had the voice of Jake Burns, QotSA wouldn’t be on my top ten list. Come to think of it, I’m not entirely sure why they’re on it now. It could be that I threw them in because I’ve listened to a lot of Kyuss in the last couple of weeks, but don’t feel like Kyuss isquite as good enough to get on the list.
Oh well.

Whathuh, I mixed up the Doves-albums. I meant to recommend “The Last Broadcast”, that’s the one with the King Crimson-cover (another band that you should check out, if you haven’t already, their debut-album, “In The Court Of The Crimson King” is great). Some Cities is good too, of course, and newer, so it might be easier to find, but, yeah.

My music taste is pretty limited, mainly ’cause I don’t prioritize it, so my favorite bands/artists are as follows; Led Zeppelin, Wolfmother, The White Stripes, ACDC, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and Queen. Do you know of any other bands that may fit the genre (I spent a lot of money on a mp3 player and I don’t have enough music to fill it with)
The three first one’s are my top three…

And what about your Mars’ disc?

Me? Well, if you like both AC/DC and Zeppelin, then Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Jethro Tull and Thin LIzzy might be worth checking out.
Oh, and Wolfmother rocks. You can bet your fine man-ass I’m envious of a mate of mine who saw them live in Oslo a couple of weeks ago…
And my March CD… well, because of some Azureus-WinAmp compatibility problems as well as the death of my mp3 player, I’m currently reacquainting myself with my record collection. I’ve been quite lax with listening to new albums in the last year or so, so now I’m taking to those of my records I haven’t listened much to lately. But hey. March is still young, there are many walks to and from my sister’s place ahead of me, and my record collection ain’t all that huge. So maybe it’ll be here in a few days. (Not unlikely, as burning a CD seems like good procrastination, and procrastinating looks to be my main preoccupation this next week.)
