Radiohead - Paranoid Android — I don’t love the video as much as I used to, but man, this is still a fucking mind-blowing song. Undeniably my favourite of all time.
Queen - I’m Going Slightly Mad — not only is the song weird in a good way, but the video is, in addtion to being good, saddening beyond belief. I mean, just watch it for at least a couple of minutes, keep an eye or two on Freddie’s face, and contemplate the fact that this video was shot sometime in ‘91…
U2 - Window in the Sky — the song that’s currently got me rethinking my ambivalent relationship with U2. The best hommage I’ve seen in quite a while, possibly ever. And it’s got Radiohead. Not to mention that it manages to get me in a good mood every time I watch or hear it. Actually, I’m grinning from ear to ear just as I type this, because of this wonderful song the the even better video. (Yeah, you get it already: I wanna marry Bono and The Edge. Or whatever they’re called.)
Muse - Knights of Cydonia — Amazing video. It just gets funnier and funnier every time I watch it. I’ll let some random YouTube commenter sum things up: “cowboys that know karate and wield laserguns is where its all at”
Blur - Good Song — the poor lovesick fairy… ;_;
Anyway, this video manages to be cute, beautiful and really, really, really morbid all at the same time. And all of it’s in black-and-white ink drawings, too. Aww, man, I’d forgotten how sick and funny this one is. XD
Sex Pistols - Road Runner — I’m guessing a Pistols concert could be a rather anti-climatic event. And this “video” is more of a collage with lots of pictures of that bastard Sid Vicious (the least deserved place in the history of rock’n'roll, anyone?). But it’s till fun to hear poor Johnny Rotten getting more and more pissed because he doesn’t know the words. Even more fun on “The Great Rock’n'Roll Swindle”, though, when they go straight from this one to “Black Arabs”…
I guess that’s all for now.
