In an interview with Joss Whedon done by one of the Marvel guys, I saw him brag about “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang” as one of the best ones made in 2005.
And whaddayaknow — I think I might agree. If you wanna know what the result would look like if The Master were to make a film in cooperation with Quentin Tarantino, you should see this one. Awesome stuff.
I will, however, dock it a few points for being a tad slow in the middle, but show me a movie which isn’t, and I’ll laugh in your face.
8.5/10. It had me hooked from the prologue. Seriously. And when the narration kicked in? Man, I was sold.
Also, it has Val Kilmer as a PI called Gay Perry. That alone is worth the 99 minutes it lasts.

This one of those films that I’ve seen but don’t own. I wanna watch it again, but can’t seem to bring myself to spend the inordinate amount of 75 kr on it.
I agree with your review, expecting the Tarantino thing. It didn’t iirc remind me much of him.

I spent 99,- on it at a point where I was expecting a rather heavy electricity bill, and I haven’t regretted it for a moment.
As for the Tarantino comparison, there was just something about the setting and the characters and stuff that reminded me of Jackie Brown, mostly, but also some Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction.
