The Boondock Saints” has been so hyped by so many people (or possibly so fervently by few), I though I should see it. And now I have.

It’s apparently an indie film, and it revolves around two Irish-American brothers from Boston, who through a series of bizzare events conclude that they are chosen by God to crusade against criminals. In the process of doing this they get both a FBI detective and a mob assassin on their necks, but they continue to effectively hunt down gangsters and the like.

It was a cool movie, albeit not as cool as I’d expected, but it was primarily the character of Willem Dafoe and the narrative structure that really amazed me here. The story wasn’t too impressive, the characters were stereotypical and shallow, and it got a bit repetitive at times.

Still, a good movie, well worth at least a 7.0/10.
