Here I isolate myself from the world (i.e. the wondrous interblag) for a mere fortnight or so, and when I return, what do I find out? That The Eternal Master, Mr. Joss Whedon, is helping some guy (his name’s Brian Lynch, I think) write an in-canon “Angel season six” comic!

It’s too much. I have to cancel all plans I’ve made for the weekend, and spend it pondering this, instead.

And it arrives in freakin’ November! That’s, like, no time at all! :D

“It’s the biggest Angel story ever told. Expect a huge, yearlong epic with all the action, mythos, humour and heartbreaking romance that made everything Whedon does so great. Plus there’s a dragon. A big honking dragon.”
— Brian Lynch, as quoted in the, um, October issue of SFX.

I think this might be bigger for me than Buffy season 8 is/was, as I haven’t read any Angel comics, and thus don’t have much of an inkling of what happened after the Battle of the Alley. Whereas the ending to Buffy was, well, more direct. Ooooh, I’m looking forward to this so much I can actually feel giant bats flutter around in my stomach! (Although, granted, that might just be hunger.)

Ah, how easily a bleak, mediocre Saturday can be turned into a light, happy one.
