PH, thank you. I blame my general confusedness due to exam-nerves and a nasty cold.

"The ending came too soon? Well, obviously, but… wasn’t this one thicker than the Bs8-comics?"

The ending always (almost always, anyway) come too soon for good things. Also, I do believe you are right about the length. Let's hope that's something they'll continue with.

And the last page? INSANELY phenomenal.

"aught to provide us with a lot of entertainment and also a bit of woe. Perhaps enough to pick at with a hoe. Unless he has lost his shoe"

woe-hoe-SHOE? That only rhymes in crazy-land.

The ending came too soon? Well, obviously, but... wasn't this one thicker than the Bs8-comics? Also, in upcoming issues, there'll be Spike and Illyria. As if things weren't already awesome enough. (CLEVER way of getting issue 2 to sell as well as issue 1, holding out on Spike...)

"just about everything happening on a much more macro-level scale than in the TV shows."
That was my main beef with "The Long Way Home", though "The Chain" and even more so what we've seen this far of "No Future For You", not really at all. And I feel the first chapter of "After the Fall" falls neatly into the same category. I felt like every single scene of this issue could happen on the show. The demons would look different, there'd be no dragon (which would be SUCH A SHAME) and we'd have less and probably more fake-looking huge-scale pictures of L.A. in Hell. But the individual scenes, and thus also the story-lines, fit the show seemlessly. Even more so than the Season 8-comics would have fit in the televised version "Buffy". So yeah, this is a danger, long-term, but I don't think it'll happen. After all, this is written by someone accustomed to the medium of comic books, not by Whedon himself. Note how much more low-key the Faith-arc by (predominately) comic book writer Vaughan is compared to the opening-arc by Joss. (Not that I'd EVER critizise the Lord and Master, just noticing a trend... What I can remember of his X-men-run was pretty flashy too... Too-long-time-in-TV-syndrome?)

Glad you liked it!

And the last page? FENOMENAL.

As for the artwork... perhaps a bit too messy for my taste, but it could have been worse. The kinda diffuse details and the twisted looks of things kinda felt right. It was almost Boschesque.
