I can’t really read your share-ratio from that tiny picture…

(Kidding, really.)

By uploading? Maybe somewhat. By downloading? Not really. He’s not an American, the shows he watches are, so he would not watch them without the free downloading-opportunity - there’s no commercial-related gain for them to lose. If he’s anything like me, there wouldn’t have been anyway, in the last five years I’ve probably not bought anything based even partially on tv-commercial-related knowlegde of the product more than five or six times. However, by watching them for free he is acquainting himself with them and, if he likes them, creating a possibility that he’ll buy them on DVD. A slight possibility, true, but a very real one and one that wouldn’t be there otherwise.
I see how the uploading-bits could probably go to people who the networks actually loose some money on not having watch the shows on TV though.

Click on it. It’s a link to a larger one.
Also, if I hadn’t downloaded them first, I’d never have bough the first four seasons of Scrubs, the Buffy and Angel box sets, or Firefly…

Nope. It’s a link to the imageshack-page where I can upload a picture of my own. Sweet of them, but hardly what I was looking for when I clicked it.
