This may very well be the hook.
Every bloody part of this episode was awesome; the Buffy part was both sad and also funny, at times; the Dawn part was one of the scariest and most creey sequences of scenes I’ve seen in a long time; the Willow part started out sad, but grew more and more creepy the longer it lasted (although I think the “thing” should have taken more time to make Willow ready for its suggestion; it came far too sudden to awaken anything but suspicion in Willow); and the part about the two geeks was… well, compared to the other three it was rather boring, but it certainly ended in a way that more than weighed up for the slow start.
Oh, and Spike… wow. Problems of adaption, perhaps?
All in all a most gratifying episode, though not gratifying enough. Me wants more! ![]()

It’s a WONDERFUL episode, I agree. But apparently, one I haven’t seen in too long a time - can you elaborate on what Spike-happening occured in this one, as well as what “the part about the two geeks” entailed? It this the one where Jonathan and Andrew returns, mayhaps?
As for the creepy - seriously, the scene where Joyce suddenly lies dead on the sofa in the background in a lightning-flash and then is gone again when the light disappears, that’s beyond creepy, that’s mortifying. Might very well be the reason I haven’t seen this episode too often… I usually only have time for such things at night, alone, in the dark…

Well, the Spike-happening doesn’t take much time, but it’s important, as it is the intro to episode 8. He’s basically just talking to this girl in a bar (probably The Bronze), follows her home, and eats her, before burying her in the basement of a house. Which is where episode 8 ends…
As for “the two geeks”, that’s Jonathan and Andrew, yeah. They return to Sunnydale, and enter Sunnydale High, while Andrew’s seeing and talking to that third geek (the mastermind geek from season 6). They go down into the basement and find the Hellmouth, then Andrew kills Jonathan.

And what am I, huh? Surrounded by people, sitting in the sunshine?

No, but I suspect you have more of a backbone.
Anyway, allright, both incidents were the ones I guessed they were, so yay me for remembering despite thinking I didn’t!
