Posts on or reviews of the following are scheduled to appear shortly:
Enchanters’ End Game,
wherein I reflect on the whole of Eddings’ classic Epic.
Doctor Who, 2006 series,
containing a description of that incredible nerdgasm of a final episode.
The Illusionist,
where much praise for great plots can be found.
Music & Lyrics,
devoted primarily to a statement made by Drew Barrimore’s character.
21 Grams,
with a reflection on realism and the extent to which I like “literary fiction” in movies.
De Fire Store: Når de døde våkner,
having in it much potential for me to display my knowledge of Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson.
The dead,
containing more reflections in “literary fiction” in novels, and also something about free indirect discourse, if I can remember it.
The Ultimates 2,
wherein can be found allusions to another nerdgasmic moment.
The Anubis Gates,
in which frolics beggar kings, Egyptian sorcerers, mythological figures, werewolves, Romantic British poets, shapeshifters, and one very bemused time traveller.
The Breakfast Club,
where I marvel at how great this movie really is.
The Prestige,
where my admiration of The Breakfast Club suddenly starts looking like a toddler’s awe at a scraggy dog.
And, also, at a future time:
Surprised by Joy,
where I test my mind against that of Clive Staple Lewis.
and
Wuthering Heights,
devoted, judging from what I’ve read so far, to praise of the dexterious handling of plot displayed by pre-Victorian English novelists.
Hopefully, I’ll be able to shorten this list down by one or two items per day, but I’m trying to be a good student these days (after all, it paid off last term, when I got as much as four As and, well, one D, but in a course where I didn’t read anything at all, really), so I can’t promise anything.
Also, apologies for my absence. I hope I’ll be able to sort out my disposition of time soon, because I kinda miss you guys…

Do you currently have all these in draft form, or are they simply “planned”. Given the former; you’re bing-bong-bonkers in the head! Given the latter: OCD is a-knocking
That said, it’s really nice to see you back and blogging again, Terje. Hope you’ll stick around for a while now - the more the merrier, right? And there should be some good posts popping up on my blog in early February, though I won’t divulge what they’re about…
Are you offline between these blogging intervals, or do you simply not visit anything save news sites and your mail? Me, I get the shivers when I’m not online at least once a day. It’s a bit scary to tell the truth.

I’m gonna go ona limb here and guess that this was a question of the non-rhetoric variety, and answer it’s the latter. I don’t draft; I start writing and write ’till I’m finished. And not so much OCD as plain old laziness, I’m afraid.

Thanks. It’s good to be back, too. Gonna try to update myself on yours and Loki’s blogs this weekend, and stay updated, too.

Offline, mostly. I don’t even check my mail as frequently as I probably should. I write my blog, and read yours and Loki’s and that’s just about all I’ve taken the time to do in the past couple of months. And I know about the scary part; I’m beginning to get kind of used to not being on at least three or four forums, and it’s so convenient it’s scaring the crap out of me. Because I want to; I’m just unable to.

This doesn’t really compare, but I’m finding it harder and harder to bother posting at The Pattern. I still check in every day to avoid feeling guilty about not doing my part as a mod, but taking the time out of my day to write about books that no one has heard/cares about is getting very hard. The only people over there who have any kind of knowledge about my tastes is you and, to some extent, Loki, and I can get to you guys a lot easier than posting it on the forum…
Will still try to post reviews of the biggest releases, though. I figure I owe the place at least that much.

It does compare, to a certain extent, at least. I felt, towards the “end” (hopefully, it’s not completely over yet), that I didn’t really get much from posting there. Sure, I got the occasional light banter and all, but recently I’ve been getting much better light banter from my flatmates (and believe me, people who’ve all finished their Master’s degrees are a hell of a lot more stimulating to talk crap with than 15-year-old), and when I stopped by over at Heroescommunity.com for a few days in late November, I was reminded of how great it is to be at a forum where more than a handful of people have anything interesting to say. So The Pattern kinda lost its charm to me, too. I still like the place, but motivation to visit is hard to come by…
