“That said, I think I know who might have released those files.”
“Who?”
“My evil half-brother, Loki. A messenger from Asgard came to warn me that he escaped from his bonds again and journeyed to Midgard to do everything he could to –”
“Thor, please.”
“What?”
“Just shut up.”
[Whispering, as Cap turns his back and leaves:] “You go to church every Sunday, Captain. What I’ve got to say’s no stranger than that.”
— Thor and Captain America,
The Ultimates 2 by Millar and Hitch.

As usual, the emphasis placed on certain words kinda ruins it for me, but luckily I’m mostly able to ignore those…

The problem is that we give emphasis way more heavily than it’s intended to mean, I think. Comic book bold font-use doesn’t necessarily mean it should be in italics or bold when transcribed like this, I suspect.
And yeah, I love that scene. Heck, I love that entire volume.

Yeah. The only word in those sentences I emphasise even remotely enough for it to warrant boldness or italics is Cap’s “please”, I think.

Perhaps not, but it still looks kinda fun. Not that fun is what this sequence is supposed to be, but…
“Heck, I love that entire volume.”
Ditto. Best Marvel story I’ve read, I suspect.

It, together with Civil War (which is also written by Millar, go figure) made me subscribe to “Iron Man”, that’s how much I liked it (and particularily his take on that charafter). While it’s been okay so far, I have to say I think I’ll cancel it sometime this spring if it doesn’t get very super-cool all of a sudden. I really don’t have the time for all these comics.

The artwork is great, but the story concept is good and stands in its own right. Admittedly Hitchs grand doublepage spreads add a lot of impact to the Ultimates.
One of my favourite lines is -
Scarlet witch - ‘Im going to find a reality where you are a baby seal being clubbed by an eskimo and bring it here.’
Ive given up on paper and subscribed to marvels online comics facility.
