Just finished watching “Matrix: Revolutions“. And I’m unable to decide what I think of it.

One one hand, it did what it was supposed to do; it concluded the trilogy in a fitting mix of tragedy and bliss, with no or few redundant scenes, all the while probably answering a lot of the unanswered questions from the first two movies. On the other hand, it didn’t take my breath away as much or often as the first two. It wasn’t as spectacular, as captivating, nor as thrilling. The character moments and the iconic moments weren’t quite a match for those of Matrix and Reloaded.

Additionally, I never quite bought their explanation for what happened with Neo and the Sentinels at the end of Reloaded. The One transcends the Matrix? Okay..? What’s that supposed to mean? Why? Has he got a wireless transmitter operated into his head or something?

This last point reminded me of one of my major objections to “The Stepford Wives“, but I won’t go any further into that, as it might spoil if some of my readers plan on seeing it.

Anyway, a decent enough film, but I’m not entirely convinced. 7.0/10.
