Or black leather coat, if you will.

Anyway, another good episode. (Huh. I can’t seem to remember any bad episodes this far in the season…) And one that progressed the plotarc somewhat, too, at least in the respect of showing the viewer what’s in store for Buffy, the Scoobies and the Slayerettes. Showing Buffy’s despair was also a good move; building up expectations and lowering faith in the hero’s a classic.

The revelation of the origin of the Slayer was interesting, and I think Buffy was right to refuse the “offer” the Slayercreators made. Sure, she’d be more powerful, but she’d also lose part of her mortality, thus, in a way, weakening herself. After all, the First Slayer seems very powerful and stuff, but she seems to be lacking in social skills, and no matter how many Übervamps she’s gotta decapitate, she’ll need her humanity. Primarily for motivation and stuff like that, but also for other stuff, I suppose.

So, seven episodes left. And 7×45 is 305, i.e. a little over five hours, meaning that I can finish the season tonight, if I forget everything else. Admittedly, I have to add 70 minutes for the time I’ll spend writing these quasi-reviews, and I’ll have to postpone both dinner and showering until after midnight, meaning I’ll have to sleep longer tomorrow morning, losing valuable reading- and writing-time.

Oh screw it. Sounds like a fair trade.
