And the breathtaking, heartstopping, bloodrushing, mindnumbing, awe-inspiring brilliance continues.
Picking up the Wood vs. Spike subplot, and bringing it to a conclusion that has everything, except humour. From the backflashes to Spike’s history with his mum and Wood’s flashback to an fight between his mum and Spike, via Spike’s relative mercy, to Giles’ assumption that he, after a several years long abscence, still know what’s best for Buffy, and Buffy’s realization of this — it was a tour de force of epic proportions. And even though I’ve been deeply touched by scenes in practically every episode of this season, this is the first (or at leat one of the few) time(s) that my eyes have turned all moist.
I think I’m beginning to run out of positive adjectives to apply to this series.

“Backflash”, that’s a kind of injury, you know.
“Several years long absence”?! The summer between 5 and 6, then she’s back, half of season 6, then HE’S back, and a fourth of season 7. How does that add up to “several years”?
And this might be my favourite episode of the season, so, well, glad you liked it.
“Where’d you get it?”
“LA.”

No, that’s “backlash”.

Good question. The madness of my math skills must be dwindling.

I think I liked every episode of this season, with some possible exceptions in the first fifth, but even those had good scenes, so…
And wasn’t it, “‘Where’d you get it?’ ‘New York.’”? If it’s the coat quote, I mean?

“No, that’s “backlash”. ”
Ah, so a backflash is NOTHING. Much better, then.
Of course it’s New York. I’m tired. I should go sleep. Heck, I got the quote wrong, I should go hang myself.

Backflash….
Flashback, of course. If that’s reason enough for you to hang yourself, than this is reason enough for me to gut myself in a ritual hara-kiri.

Don’t be silly, getting Whedony-quotes wrong beats bad English on the reasons-for-suicide-scale any day.
