And the breathtaking, heartstopping, bloodrushing, mindnumbing, awe-inspiring brilliance continues.

Picking up the Wood vs. Spike subplot, and bringing it to a conclusion that has everything, except humour. From the backflashes to Spike’s history with his mum and Wood’s flashback to an fight between his mum and Spike, via Spike’s relative mercy, to Giles’ assumption that he, after a several years long abscence, still know what’s best for Buffy, and Buffy’s realization of this — it was a tour de force of epic proportions. And even though I’ve been deeply touched by scenes in practically every episode of this season, this is the first (or at leat one of the few) time(s) that my eyes have turned all moist.
