This is for some reason one of the episodes I hate to watch. I mean, I like the insight into the lives of Doyle and Cordelia we get, but some of the poltergeist scenes are a little too much for me, especially the ones where the dead old lady’s not manifested, but rather keeps herself hidden. I don’t know why, but those scenes just freak me out.
Apart from that, I can’t really come up with anything to say about this episode. Except that I don’t like the weekly monster, of course. But I think I already said that, and thus it cannot be “apart from that”, as it’s clearly part of itself.
One thing though, is that the dead old lady is much creepier when she’s not standing right infront of people. Confrontations are rarely spooky, at least not when compared to sneaky, stalky scenes.

The scene where she is building the wall in front of her tied-up son is the single most disturbing scene in the Whedonverse, and the reason I so rarely re-watch this.
I don’t feel this episode counts as a Monster Of The Week-episode since it’s really more of an introduction-episode for a recurring character (Dennis).
One thing, by the way, it’s kind of odd that you now after having seen the entireness of “Buffy” aren’t commenting upon the episode’s climax, Cordelia reverting to her season 1-Buffy-persona to beat the ghost. That should be way cooler now than before.

Funny thing is that I thought about it when I typed the post, but for some reason it must have slipped away. But you’re right — it was an awsome moment, even an iconic one, when Cordelia lifts her head, saying “I’m a bitch.”

And she so totally is.
Only, she says “The bitch is back”, not “I’m a bitch”. Doesn’t she?

I think she may have said both, but the first ting she says is “I’m a bitch,” thus almost echoing the words of the dead old woman.

Ahhh, right.
See? I don’t dare re-watch it, and thus I don’t remember squat.
