I’m not much of a gamer. I’ve never played multiplayer, beyond the occasional Heroes of Might and Magic hotseat game, and I abhor FPS-games, prefering well-known TBS-games instead. Some favourites include “Sid Meier’s Civilization II”, “Sid Meier’s Alpha Centauri”, “Heroes of Might and Magic” II- IV, and “Neverwinter Nights”.

This does not bode well…

I was in Molde yesterday, to have dinner with a buddy of mine from high school, and somehow at least two thirds of the four hours we spent together were spent talking about World of Warcraft, which said buddy, like so many others, had been pretty much addicted by the last couple of years. Personally, [...]

w00t!

Finally! Almost two years since I bought and started playing it, and some five or six years since the game’s release, I finally finished Neverwinter Nights!
I was close about half a year ago, too, when I had this rather nice Half-Orc Paladin going for me, but unfortunately, he proved to be no match for the [...]

Inspired by the blogger formerly known as Lotta…

I decided to change my on-screen handle again:
Dread Pirate Terje.
Now, I’m not one of those people who think pirates are cool (quite the contrary, in fact, bloody murderous pigs as they were), but what I think is cool, is (a) cheesy fantasy movies from the 80s (well, some of them, anyway), and (b) turn-based strategy [...]

Red vs. Blue, season 1

I never thought a show about a bunch of morons standing in the middle of nowhere, with a lot of heavy weaponry, could be this fun.
Good stuff.

Movies Galore: A Summary

It’s nearly two months since my last movie review — a review, I might add, where I was unreasonably hard on the reviewed movie, as the fact that I’m in a foul mood shouldn’t really count against it. Anyway, since then I’ve watched a lot of movies: excellent movies, great movies, good movies, mediocre movies, [...]

2007-08-01 — Quote of the Day

Elaine Marley: “Let’s face it, LeChuck. You are an evil, foul-smelling, vile, codependent villain and that’s just not what I’m looking for in a romantic relationship right now.”
LeChuck: “Darn yer riddles, ya saucy female! What d’ya mean?”
- The Curse of Monkey Island.

2007-04-27 — Quote of the Day & Bab 5

Morden: “What do you want?”
Vir: “I want to live just long enough to be there when they cut off your head and stick it on a pike, as a warning to the next ten generations that some favours come with too high a price. I would look up on your lifeless face and wave, like [...]

2007-03-27 — Quote of the Day

“You can learn a lot in a small dark room. Don’t let anyone tell you different.”
- Ulfnog,
“Neverwinter Nights”.

Oh, and…

… the “Firefly” DVD I had to order because of Loki (okay, so here’s my contribution for the “Worst Excuse of 2007 Award” ) arrived yesterday!
Which means that as soon as I’ve force-fed my sister the last couple of episodes of VM (this show really stands to be watched a second time, I’ve [...]

Divided loyalties — AS3×3 That Old Gang Of Mine

(”Divided Loyalties” is, now that I come to think of it, a HoMM III map.)
And wow. A brilliant episode, stuffed with awesome character moments, some long due focus on Gunn, also some silliness. I mean, how can one not like this show?
This is perhaps one of the strongest stand-alones that I can remember. That is, [...]

First impressions of “Heroes of Might and Magic V”

After looking for it for several months, I finally found and bought “Heroes of Might and Magic V“. I’ve played it for maybe 7-10 hours, in a hot-seat game where I control all the players, and I must say that me initial reactions are less than positive.
First of all, it’s buggy like hell. During the [...]

The Restoration Of What? The Gold Standard, or Erathia?

Maximum fourteen pages left to read before I can begin writing, and I’m dizzier than ever.
In fact, I am so dizzy that I have started to hallucinate. Whenever I read the phrase “the restoration of the gold standard”, the letters begin floating outwards, transforming themselves into the words “The Restoration of Erathia”, and I can [...]

I have to learn to read paper assignments more closely…

I am annoyed with myself. Today, after procrastinating for a few hours, getting various menial work out of the way before staring on my history paper, I thought I’d check what, exactly, I’m supposed to write about, and write this down on a piece of paper to have in front of me while reading. To [...]
