Ever since I watched “Waterboy” and “Big Daddy” I have been a believer in Adam Sandler as an actor. Last night that delusion was totally, utterly and irrevocably shattered. I watched a horrible movie titled “Click”, starring Adam Sandler and Kate Beckinsale.
I hope you understand that my expectations were high before I slotted it into my dvd-player and pushed play. I used to like these kinds of comedies, and this one was sporting one of the most gorgeous women in the world. I’m always inclined to cut films with either Beckinsale or Alba in the leads some slack. I’ll even tell myself that they are infact good actors, even though I know it’s not true. Click, however, doesn’t deserve any slack at all. It deserves a bitch-slapping because… it… is… that… dreadful!
For those of you who hasn’t already heard the plot, I will tell you that Click is about a working family father who hasn’t got enough time to do everything he want’s. He doesn’t even know which remote controls the TV anymore. Exasperated by this, he goes out and buys a universal remote at “Bed, Bath and Beyond“. Beyond, of course, meaning heaven. To his great suprise the controller doesn’t only turn on his TV, it can also fast-forward his own life, other peoples life, turn down the volume of various things etc etc. He may even go back in time to watch his own life unfold. The next events are as predictable as they are mindnumbing dull.
Click was infact so dull, I took Adam Sandlers example literally and fast-forwarded the last half hour of the film myself. I actually found this quite amusing, even more so than watching the real thing. I was well aware of the irony ![]()
To sum up, I give Click a 3/10. I guess it could have been worse (Beckinsale was stunning and the special effects wasn’t all that bad, but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone but my worst enemy).

Sounds like an unoriginal yet semi-interesting concept, wasted on a braindead Sandler comedy. I feel your suffering, brother.
