* I’ve started watching the first season of “Buffy -the Vampire Slayer” and must say that it’s good start to a show that’ll be haunting me for the next couple o’ months. I can deduce a lot of the tension of the episodes away, but then again; that goes for every other show I’ve ever watched.
Don’t worry; I wont be posting reviews of every singel episode like some others do ;). Maybe I’ll do some kind of Season Roundup, but you’ll just have to wait and see… There are some great quotes in this show. In the very first one Buffy says to Giles (and I’m paraphrasing): “This is Sunnydale! How bad can it be here?” It seems that J. Whedon took this remark and set out to prove it wrong beyond recognition.
A funny coincidence: The first vampire that shows her ugly/normal face in Buffy is the acttress that plays Dexter’s girlfriend. She likes blood as a vampire in “Buffy” and in “Dexter” her boyfriend likes blood too. Strange, but still true ![]()
*The cover-art of “Reaper’s Gale” by Steven Erikson is up at Pat’s Fantasy Hotlist (it’s on the right side of your screen, dammit :)) It looks good - not so artsy as Midnight Tides, but not as cool as Deadhouse Gates. I’m still wondering about whether I should order a hardcover or a tradeback copy. I’m leaning towards the expensive option, but I haven’t got any of the other books in HC, so it’s still a matter to be thought thoroughly through.
* My Wii got a home yesterday and everything’s pure bliss. This, pluss Buffy and regular schoolwork etc… will have a impact on my bookreading, so I wouldn’t be holding my breath for another review (your complexion will turn to a very unhealthy shade of blue).
* What you will get is a review of Dexter (which airs tonight) and “Matchbox”, starring Scarlett Johanson. I’ve had a crush on her ever since I watched “The Island”, and in this movie she plays a seducive temptress. I bought it when I went to the city, alongside “Walk the Line”, which I’ve already seen and loved. That film’s already a classic in my opinion.
*I seem to have lost my beloved headphones. I know it’s one of you that have taken them, because I had them when I stepped of the schoolbus, but now they’re gone. This is most unfortunate seeing as I was going to use them when I watch Buffy. Give them back right this instance and I will not have to inflict too severe consequences to your neck.
If you’re wondering why I was in the city (Namsos), the reason is simply that I had to get my nose checked by a CT-scan (for reasons you experience once or twice in a year, a couple of weeks at the time. I’ve been dripping since November, so those weeks have been very long in my case). If you are a sci-fi fan, this is a most exhilarating experience. The CT machine is a sirkel that you have to pass through, all the while something’s spinning wildly around inside it. I am sure that I have now switched dimensions, just like they do in Stargate. If not; please don’t ruin it for me. I like this dimension; it has Nintedos and Buffy.
And popcorn (Okay, I admit I bought the popcorn myself, but that really doesn’t mean anything :P)…

“like som others do ;).”
” There are som great quotes”
What are you? A fuckin’ Norwegian?
As for the post itself, I don’t have to much to say. Only that I have your headphones, and to get them back, yo’ll have to kiss Terje’s cheek.

I have a statistics course atm, but as soon as I’m done, I’ll come back and comment more thoroughly. Just have to applaud this sentiment first, though:
“I like this dimension; it has Nintedos and Buffy.”

“Maybe I’ll do some kind of Season Roundup”
That’d be much appreciated. As would posts on episodes you really like or despise beyond anything you’ve ever despised.
“There are some great quotes in this show.”
Well, duh.
“The cover-art of “Reaper’s Gale” by Steven Erikson is up at Pat’s Fantasy Hotlist”
It looks like the American cover. The European/British is usually much sweeter.
“I’ve been dripping since November”
Ouch. I used to do that before, when I was 7 or 8, and it was suspected that I had polypps. But the day before I was scheduled for operation, my mom took a flashlight and a pair of pincers, and pulled large pieces of “foam gum” out of my nose. Apparently, I’d pushed them up there when I was 4 or 5 or 6, and just for got about them. Have hardly bled since. Anyway, good luck to you!

Sounds awesome.
“If not; please don’t ruin it for me. I like this dimension; it has Nintedos and Buffy.”
Again, this quote is so awesome, I’m gonna add it to my quote file when I get home.

Sage advice.

No, I’m fairly sure that this is Bantam’s cover. It has been met with a lot of criticism on the net, because this cover is much more fantasyish than the previous ones, and the argument from Bantam was that it was supposed to be less so
When I said “dripping” I didn’t mean bleeding. I have a runny nose in the winters, always have, but this winter has been particularly bad. I had been bleeding since November I wouldn’t have been watching Buffy for entertainment. I would have needed massive amounts of blood, so Buffy would have more like “101 ways not to encounter a Slayer”
By the by, Terje. You must have ENORMOUS nostrils

Aha, hehehehe.
Easy to mix hose up, I guess.

Nah, they’re pretty standard. But “skumgummi” is kinda easy to compress, you know…
“No, I’m fairly sure that this is Bantam’s cover.”
Crap.

Addendum to why I said “crap”:
That cover was perhaps the ugliest and most cheesy thing I have seen in my life; how the hell am I supposed to buy that in a store without looking like a complete schmuck? (Notification: This is a rhetorical question, and an especially meaningless one at that, as I buy most of my fantasy in bookstores where the salespeople actually know who Steven Erikson is, because they love him almost as much as I do.)
