Yes! I have finally succeeded to post a YouTube video. Go me!
Let’s celebrate with some good old Monty Python. And in other good news; I have a written term exam in New Norwegian (in Norway we have to learn two different written languages, you see). Excuse me while I go shoot myself in the head…

Two different written languages? Huh. I’ve always been of the impression they’re fairly similar. Some grammatical differences, a few lexical differences, but more than at least 70 % must be the same even in these two areas. And as far as I can remember, there’s only one semi-syntaxic difference, in how Neo Norwegian prefers not to use the genitive “s”, and instead uses not “Terjes feil”, but “feilen hans Terje”.
Anyhoo, and on a more serious note, a belated good luck. How’d it go?

“Terje sin feil”, actually, or “Feilen til Terje”. “Feilen hans Terje” sounds like you’re mildly retarded or from Trøndelag. (Neither of which is to be recommended.)

There is in fact a correlation between being retarded and being from Trøndelag. Take it from someone who’s lived here for quite some time now
(*All implications of previous statements have been thoroughly considered*)
As to how it went, well… It’s one of those tests that you walk out of without knowing entirely whether you just aced or if you’re getting a “5 -”, which is a bad grade by my standards. I’ll get back to you when I know more exactly what I’m talking about here.

Wonder who’s got the best test. I wrote one as well the other day. But I won’t get it back before after Christmas.

Well, I got a “6″ on my bokmål term exam, which is what you had your test in , right?

Nope, only had a 4 hour test in Nynorsk.

That’s peculiar. Do you go to one of those schools that has Nynorsk as its written language? We didn’t have to do any Nynorsk at all in our first year (which was totally moronic, but there you go).

I believe that if I spoke the dialect of the village where I grew up, I would say “Feilen hass Terje”, so watch it.

You grew up in a VILLAGE?
By Jove, was there heavily moustached Gauls bravely keeping it from falling into the hands of the Romans there and everything, then?
